Monterey Bay Festivals

Monterey Jazz Festival
The annual Monterey Jazz Festival has been entertaining for about 50 years. It features more than 500 musical artists, including many top names in jazz such as Buddy Guy, Chaka Khan and the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra. The Monterey Jazz Festival sets up 7 stages for 3 nights of mid-September entertainment.

Carmel Bach Festival
Carmel's Bach Festival takes place over three weeks from July to August. In almost its 70th season, this musical treat takes place in four Carmel venues (Sunset Theatre, Carmel Mission Basilica, All Saints Church and the Church in the Forest). More than 100 events such as concerts and candlelit recitals, lectures and dinners commemorate the works of Johann Sebastian Bach's fine music.

Carmel Tomatofest
At Carmel's Tomatofest, 60 gourmet chefs show off their best tomatoes. The festival includes tomato tasting, salsa showcase featuring 90 varieties of salsa, wine tasting, live music and dancing, and olive oil tasting. More than 300 kinds of gourmet tomatoes are brought from around the world to Carmel so that festival attendees can try them all. Usually held in mid-September at Quail Lodge. Sponsored by Sunset Magazine, proceeds donated to charity.
